Side winds suck.

Today I left Medicine Bow about 9am and headed up WY487 to WY77. 77 was not as good as I had hoped, a somewhat choppy ride and not much for exciding scenery. Wyoming has a lot of great vista's but it also has a lot of sagebrush type grazing lands and boy can the wind ever blow. Today I had a crosswind the first 70 miles and then either a cross wind or head wind pretty much the rest of the day. I would say the winds averaged 20>25mph, which is great for the wind turbines I saw, just not so much for me. I think that I stopped at every roadside marker. Alot of them had to do with the westward migration in the 1800's. It makes for some interesting reading and I am glad that I don't have to make the journey in a covered wagon, they where a tuff breed. Some of the scenery pictures that I took just don't do the view justice. What I saw in person was just super. OK time to add a few pics.
Art for sale in Medicine Bow.
Yes I will be wearing down the left side of the tires today.
Big views.
Indepedence Rock.
Well that's about it for today. Not quite sure where tomorrow will take me.

  1. Medicine Bow to Kemmerer the long way via 220... Great pictures. I like the second to the last. Wide open spaces in the middle of nowhere.

  2. These type of scenes always make me start singing inside my helmet ... "Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play...."
