Today I met Jean and Gib out on the Tiger Cat Flowage near intersection 45 at 9:30am. We made a large clockwise loop up to Barnes WI for lunch, then over to Drummond WI for a drink and potty break. We headed back home without stopping after Drummond except for pictures. The trip covered 91 miles. Trails were amazing, flat and fast.
Todays route. Longest ride so far this year at 91 miles.
Time to head up trail 5.
Crossing the Namekagon River on trail 8/31 near intersection 11.
Trail 8/31 split. We will be heading North on trail 31 to Barnes.
Crossing the Totogatic River.
Logging is definitely a part of the economy in northern Wisconsin.
Headed North on trail 31. The pictures don't do this trail justice. There was alot of twisty, up and down running thru the woods. the trail was in excellent shape.
A nice view from up here. We're headed to the Trading Post in Barnes for lunch. Some of the Oaks really hold there leaves well into the winter.
Trading Post inside and out.
Trail 7 headed out of Barnes and headed to Drummond.
The signage is good for the most part. We only made one wrong turn. Caught our mistake in about a mile.
Just follow the signs and enjoy the day.
This is were we stopped and decided to make the .45 mile detour into Drummond for a drink and potty stop.
Bear Country, star 30 in upper right of loop.
Headed south out of Drummond and across Lake Owen.
Headed down trail 15.
Crossing the Namekagon river near Telemark and the starting line for the American Birkebeiner cross country ski race.
Getting close to home now.
Great day for a ride even if it was cloudy. All the cloudiness we've had these past few weeks have actually been a great help in preserving the snow on the trails. It was a super day. I was home at 3:30pm.
