Longest ride so far this year with Jean and Gib. It ended up being an 84 mile lunch run to Ransom's Place in Clam Lake. #21 on the right edge of the map. I started from home, lower left on map.
Today's route.
Gassed up and ready to go. Nice to have a new garage.
Were I get on trail 14 is just 2 blocks from my garage.
Intersection 63 were I head north to meet Jean and Gib near intersection 45. The lakes are in great shape for riding.
Along trail 5. We had had an inch or two fresh snow the night before, trails were great.
Quick break at intersection #43. we'll be headed straight ahead up trail 3.
Great trail thru the woods.
And then out in the open thru an area that was logged off and replanted.
Intersection of trail 3 & 8. Mountain biking is big up here winter and summer both. I heard they had 50 miles of single track groomed in the area.
Logs ready for loading and one more blow your nose stop before we get to our lunch stop.
It was snowing very hard when we came out of Ransom's.
It snowed pretty much the whole ride back. It was great.
There are still spots of open water in the lower areas. Another reason to stay on the great marked trails.
Some of the trails follow fire roads and lanes off and on. I don't know if there's a difference.
Along trail 3 and it's snowing pretty hard again.
Our last stop of the day was Red Deer Lodge #121 on trail 3 on the map. It was another great day of riding with my friends Jean and Gib.
