Saturday ride 2-1. Chasing Bigfoot.

Today's ride was to try and chase down Bigfoot (the T-shirt). Jean, Gib and I had picked up our playing card a couple rides ago and had 1 of the 6 destinations checked off. Today the plan was to hit the other 5. Luckily one of them served breakfast and was a great way to get the days ride going. It was also a convenient close first stop on our planned route. I met them out on the Tiger Cat flowage as usual at 8:45am and were sitting down to breakfast at Tiny's diner just after 9am. It's circle 14 on the map. Breakfast was good and the coffee was great.
We tried to take our time because the next stop on our card didn't open until noon. The trails were freshly groomed and it was easy to cover alot of ground.
Today's quest. A nice prize at the end of a day of great riding.
Our route for the day covered 55 miles and ran counterclockwise. Our stops in order were 14, 121, 36, 38 and 41.
First peeks of blue sky I've seen in like 2 weeks it seems. Meeting Jean and Gib out front of their place on the flowage.
A very calm setting.
Tiny's diner inside and out. Right on trail 5.
It turned out to be a really nice day to go riding thru the woods and over the lakes with the sun shining in northern Wisconsin.
This is the area between intersection 70 and 71 on the map.
At intersection 71 we followed trail 5/21 to Moose Lake and headed out on the lake and north up trail 21. The dam regulating Moose lake has open water near it.
Running North up trail 21.
Still on trail 21 but getting close to stop number 2 for the day.
Our second stop was Red Deer Lodge, circle 121 on map. Upon arrival at about 11:15am we saw that the open sign was displayed so we walked up and the outside door was open but the sign said noon. The owner was inside vacuuming. She opened the door and invited us in. She finished vacuuming and served us our drinks and about that time a group of 18 riders showed up. She asked us to tell them she would be right out. She was still in her sleeping costume when we showed up. It's nice to have 20+ customers before you even open officially.
The crowd the gear and the sleds.
Third stop was the Reel Livin' Resort. Star 36 on map. A group of about 8-10 came in right behind us. Alot of people out riding today.
Fourth stop, Dow's Corner, circle 38 on map.
Fifth and final stop, Twin Lakes Tap, circle 41 on map. Got our shirt and had fun doing it.
Back on the Tiger Cat only a few miles to home.
Off the flowage and only quarter mile from home. What can I say other than another marvelous day to be out.
Enjoy your day and thanks for looking.
