Sturgis, first day out.

Left home this morning about 7:45am. It was cool but nice with partly cloudy skies.


My starting mileage was 40100. My first stop was Thayers landing on the St. Croix river on theMN/WI border.


Then it was on to Hinkley MN, and stop by the Hinkley Fire Memorial.


Next stop was Montivideo, MN to meet up with an old friend to ride out to Sturgis with.


From there it was off to our final destination for the day, Faulkton SD. We dodged all but about 200 rain drops getting there. We where lucky. It didn't start raining until we got back from dinner at the Burger Shack. Good burger.Faulkton pics.


I did a total of 458 miles today. Tomorrow will be a short day at about 250 miles to Belle Fourche, SD where I will be camping for the next week or so.

    Thanks for the Hinckley Fire pics. I'd heard of it but never seen the memorial. Hope the weather holds out for tomorrow.
