Our ride on Sunday was just a nice 51 mile loop with 3 stops and few pictures. The first stop was The Landing, star 29 on the map. Then it was off to Big Musky resort, star 108 on the map. The last stop was Twin Lakes Tap, circle 41 on the map.
Todays route.
Our first stop of the day.
The trails were in fabulous condition.
Getting ready to drop the hammer across Round Lake. I was able to run the entire length of the lake at 75-85 mph. It was nice and smooth with just a little undulation. I just got my butt up off the seat a couple inches and let my legs become part of the suspension. What a great sensation flying across the lake like that.

Saturday ride 2-22-20
On Saturday the plan was to go down to Winter WI to the Rustic Inn resort. They were supposed to have radar runs that day. It didn't happen. The ice on the lake was deemed to not be of good enough quality. What usually happens is they get 2 or 3-3/4 ton pickups to plow a nice smooth straight track. They did have a sloppy joe meal fundraiser for the club that maintains this area of the trails. So we had lunch and bought a few chances on the door prizes. Then it was back to the trails.
Todays route of 76.5 miles. Once again the trails were in really great shape.
At intersection 63, 1/2 mile from home. Waiting for Jean and Gib on a beautiful day.
Callahan Lake area on trail 18.
The frost on the trees was really cool. Not sure which I like better, the close up or the more panoramic view. These were taken out on Lake Chippewa.
Trail 6 just north of Ojibwa at about intersection 130.
Trail 10 East of Ojibwa near intersection 132. This trail uses an old railroad right of way.
Rustic Inn resort circle 22 on the map, just East of Winter.
Along trail 5.
Our next and last stop was the Woodhaven resort bar on trail 18. It is located on the South end of Callahan lake, circle 152 on the map.
It was another great day to ride with my friends Jean and Gib.

Wednesday ride. 2-12-20
On this ride Jean, Gib and I decided to check out a place on Lake Namakagon called the Loon Saloon and General Store. Leaving from our normal starting spot at intersection 45 at 9:30am we arrived at our destination right around 11am. The trails were in real good condition. I believe the trails north of our location have a little more snow than south of here.
Our route today covered 62 miles and followed a clockwise direction.
Skiers on the Birkebiener ski trail. We cross the trail in a couple spots on our ride today.
At intersection 34. We always stop here to make sure eveything is in order and to blow your nose if needed.
Heading into the twisties on trail 77. Love it.
Sometimes Gib has to wait for me and Jean because I stop for a picture. Playing catch up can be plenty of fun. I like to take it up a notch or two and Jean is no slouch either.
Met a few other riders out on the trails today. This is at Intersection 38.
Along trail 8. Made good time along this section.
Heading out onto Lake Namakagon. Good signage out on the lakes to help you find your destination.
Almost to our destination. We're here in time for lunch, great.
Inside the Loon Saloon. A couple more sleds came in right behind us. The food was good.
It was starting to snow when we left the Loon Saloon. A welcome sight. The various clubs that do the trail grooming have their equipment stored and serviced in various locations thoughout the area. I salute them.
Along trail 8 and 3.
Back into Sawyer County. A couple more of the clubs that keep the trails in great condition.
It ended up to be a great day.
It's to bad the next day I came down with the flu. That took me out of comission thru today, Sunday. Next ride is planned for this Wednesday. I should be back to 100% by then. At 66 years old there is no need to push it.
Have a great week and thanks for looking.

Laughlin weekend. Feb 7-10
My wife and I spent last weekend in Laughlin, NV. There were 9 of us from MN and WI.We flew out of Minneapolis, MN. 2 friends drove in from CA. for a total of 11. We arrived late morning on Friday. The weather was perfect on Friday and Saturday, in the high 60's to mid 70's. Sunday and Monday it was a little cooler with sustained winds of 20-25mph from the north with higher gusts at times. We had a great time with alot of walking on the first two days but not so much the last two with the windy conditions. We stayed at the Riverside Casino. I spent my time playing the slots, bingo, and keno. You could call it mindless entertainment. Also took in two movies; (1917, JOJO Rabbit). They have 6 movie screens and 34 lanes of bowling. One other thing I did was to take in both car museums that are inside the casino. They had a nice mix of vehicles. I only took a couple pics.
Flowers blooming along the sidewalk.
The moon rising Feb 8, 2020. 5:38pm.
The moon setting Sun Feb 9, 2020. 6:36, 6:40 and 6:41am.
Had a wonderful time. We arrived back in Minneapolis at 1:30am tuesday. After getting our bags we caught the shuttle to the offsite parking and were on the road by 2:10am and arrived back home in Hayward WI at 4:50am. No traffic and only 2 deer sightings which means hard on the brakes incase one of them does something stupid. Woke up this morning Thursday the 13th to -12 Fahrenhiet; back to reality.
